Akira is regarded by critics as one of the greatest animated films ever made.[1] Marsupilami is a fictional comic book animal created by André Franquin, first published on January 31, 1952 in the magazine Spirou.[1] Since then it appeared regularly in the popular Belgian comic book series Spirou et Fantasio until Franquin stopped creating the series in 1968 and took the character with him. osé Cabrero Arnal or C. Arnal (September 7, 1909 in Barcelona—September 7, 1982 in Antibes, France) was a Catalan-Spanish cartoonist, who became a naturalized French citizen. During his youth in Barcelona he worked as cabinetmaker and as repairman of calculators. He published his very first graphic works in magazines like Pocholo or the famous TBO, with a character called Top, a humanized dog that would later become the famous Pif le chien. In 1936, after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, he enrolled in the Republican militia and was forced into exile in France after the end of war. In 1940, while his adoptive country was under German occupation, he was captured and deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp, as were many other Republican exiles. He would not leave until the end of World War II, in 1945. In 1946 he published the first cartoons of Placid et Muzo, an anthropomorphic fox and bear, in the weekly publication Vaillant, le journal de Pif. He was a frequent collaborator of L'Humanité, the newspaper of the French Communist Party. In this publication appeared for the first time in 1948 his most celebrated character, the dog Pif, and two years later he would draw Pif's inseparable partner, the cat Hercule, ending in the comic strip Pif et Hercule. Pif gave name in 1969 to a magazine, Pif gadget, of great success during the 1970s, in which French and European cartoonists published their works, and which survived the death of its creator (with many cartoonists adopting Pif and Hercule into their own creations). cs magazine Pilote in 1963, the series presents the comic misadventures of an anti-hero. The name derives from "talon d'Achille", the French term for an "Achilles' heel", which suits the character although the Achilles' heel of Achille Talon is not his heel but his large nose. The figure was conceived by Greg when, due to a clerical error, some pages of Pilote were blank and none of the other authors were available.[citation needed] In English translations the series is titled Walter Melon. Spirou & Fantasio e Smurfs (originally Les Schtroumpfs in French) are a fictional group of small sky blue creatures who live somewhere in the woods. The Belgian cartoonist Peyo introduced Smurfs to the world in a series of comic strips, making their first appearance in the Belgian comics magazine Le Journal de Spirou on October 23, 1958. English-speakers perhaps know them best through the 1980s animated television series from Hanna-Barbera Productions, The Smurfs.

Terminée en mars 2004, cette série est la plus longue publiée par une seule équipe en anglais, avec 300 numéros et plus de 6 000 pages. Son créateur considère que la série constitue un roman graphique de 6000 pages. Spider-Man (Peter Benjamin Parker) is a fictional superhero in the Marvel Universe. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (Aug. 1962), and has since gone on to become one of the most popular, enduring and commercially successful superheroes worldwide, and is arguably Marvel's most famous character. When Spider-Man first appeared in the early 1960s, teenagers in superhero comic books were usually relegated to the role of sidekick to the series' main character -- Robin to Batman, Aqualad to Aquaman and Speedy to Green Arrow. The Spider-Man Georges Pichard (January 17, 1920 - June 7, 2003) was a French comics artist, known for numerous BD magazine covers, serial publications and albums, stereotypically featuring partially exposed voluptuous women. ella was originally a French science fiction comic book created by Jean-Claude Forest, who originated the character for serialisation in the French magazine V-Magazine in 1962. It was subsequently published as a stand-alone book by Eric Losfeld. The comic stars Barbarella, a young woman who has numerous adventures, often involving sex, while journeying around the galaxy. The original comic book version of Barbarella was probably modelled on Brigitte Bardot who was once married to the director of the 1968 film, Roger Vadim.
Yoko Tsuno is a comic book series created by the Belgian writer Roger Leloup published by Dupuis and in Spirou since its debut in 1970. Through twenty-four volumes, the series tell the adventures of Yoko Tsuno, a female electrical engineer of Japanese origin surrounded by her close friends, Vic and Pol. Their adventures bring them to, among other places, Germany, Scotland, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and also into outer space. The stories are heavily technology driven, with concepts like robot dragons (Le Dragon de Hong Kong), suspended animation (La Frontière de la vie), time travel (La Spirale du temps and others), and even an alien species called the Vineans. Despite the often exotic settings, the stories remain very realistic and friendship, love and spirituality are some of the key themes of the series. The art is drawn in Ligne claire style. When depiciting real-world settings, Leloup aspires to be as true to reality as possible, with places like Burg Katz or Rothenburg ob der Tauber depicted with almost photographic skill. Natasha hotesse de l'air Richard Corben (born October 1, 1940) is an American comic book artist best known for his illustrated fantasy stories in Heavy Metal (HM) magazine. He was born on a farm in Anderson, Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Kansas City Art Institute, in 1965. After a short stint as a professional animator, Corben started doing underground comics in 1970, when he started illustrating horror comics for Warren Publishing. In 1975, when Moebius, Druillet, and Dionnet started publishing Métal Hurlant in France, Corben started submitting stories to them. He continued his work for the franchise in America, where the magazine was called Heavy Metal. In 1976 he adopted a short Robert E. Howard story in what is possibly the first graphic novel, Bloodstar.
os, usually known only by her first name Elektra, is a fictional character in publications from Marvel Comics. Created by Frank Miller, the character first appeared in Daredevil #168 (January 1981). Elektra is a ninja and assassin who wields two bladed sai as her trademark weapon. She is a love interest of the superhero Daredevil, but her violent nature and mercenary lifestyle divide the two. She is one of Frank Miller's best-loved creations, and subsequent writers' use of her is controversial as Marvel had originally promised to not resurrect the character without Miller's permission.[1] She has also appeared as a supporting character of the X-Men's Wolverine. She is named after Electra, daughter of Agamemnon of Mycenae and Clytemnestra of Sparta. Serpieri has styled Druuna to be strikingly beautiful, appearing of Mediterranean descent, with long black hair, tanned skin, and a body that has grown increasingly voluptuous over the course of the stories. In most cases, Druuna's role is that of a willing sexual object, submitting to sexual advances of all kinds with little or no complaint, other than the occasional sad pout, though more than once she has been raped in the stories. She is frequently depicted as sparsely clothed or nude, and Serpieri's high quality renditions of Druuna are often reproduced as poster prints. Most of Druuna's adventures revolve around a post-apocalyptic future, and the plot is often a vehicle for varied scenes of softcore and hard-core pornography and sexual imagery.
