After graduating with high honors from Seneca College, Computer Graphic Technician Program, Lyriq took up acting on a dare and his career has been on a steady rise.
Since accepting that challenge 6 years ago, Lyriq has starred opposite Mark Wahlberg and Andre 3000 of Outkast in the feature film, Four Brothers, directed by John Singleton, Take The Lead with Antonio Banderas and Alfre Woodard, and Saw II, the much anticipated sequel to the psychological thriller Saw, with Donnie Wahlberg.
Lyriq has also had the opportunity to work with Mekhi Phifer and Jessica Alba in Honey, the Robert Townsend's multi-award-winning television movie 10,000 Black Men Named George with Andre Baugher and Jane Doe, starring Teri Hatcher.
He also worked alongside Gerard Depardieu in Crime Spree.
His numerous television credits include guest starring roles, on Kevin Hill, with Taye Diggs, Kojak with Ving Rhames, recurring roles on the CBS/Zoetrope Platinum, the ESPN/Disney, Playmakers and the Columbia Tristar series, Street Time, as well as the Canadian series, Blue Murder. Lyriq's eclectic mix of roles has made him one of the most sought after actors working today.
Most recently, Lyriq starred in director Michael Mabbott's critically acclaimed debut feature film, The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico, which premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival, winning the award for Best First Canadian Feature Film.
He is currently in production in the Lions Gate horror film, Skinwalkers, in which he co-stars with Jason Behr and Rhona Mitra due for release in 2006.
